2013 3D Printed Model Rocket Competition

This year's Model Rocketry Competition will be featuring 3D printed designs. Participants in the competition will be designing innnovative rocket concepts in Solidworks, which will then be printed on a 3D Printer.

The following video showcases the potential of additive manufacturing technologies when dealing with aerospace applications. Students at the University of California in a chapter of the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) successfully tested their 3D printed rocket engine. The engine itself was created through a metal additive manufacturing process.
