Silicone 40A
Produce 100% silicone parts in-house, in a matter of hours
Formlabs Silicone 40A Resin is an ideal SLA 3D printing material for fabricating functional prototypes, validation units, tooling, and small batches of silicone parts without expensive production costs and low production lead-times.
Silicone 40A. The first accessible pure silicone 3D printing material
Formlabs Silicone 40A resin is the first pure silicone SLA 3D printing material enabled by Formlabs’ Pure Silicone Technology™ to 3D print parts that require pliability and durability even through repeated stretching, flexing or compression.

What’s Great about Formlabs Silicone 40A Resin?
Elastomeric Performance
Manufacture flexible and resilient components with a 230% elongation at break and a tear strength of 12 kN/m, engineered to withstand repetitive stretching, bending, and compression. To ensure peak performance, 3D print silicone parts with outstanding chemical resistance and thermal stability (-25°C to 125°C).
Freedom of Design with Fast and Easy Fabrication
With Formlabs Silicone 40A resin, you can 3D print custom parts with isotropic properties, fine features as small as 0.3 mm, and complex geometries that aren’t possible with casting or molding.
No-tooling Equals Cost Savings
For rapid prototyping and low-volume manufacturing, you can eliminate tooling and labour-intensive casting processes to enable custom and low-volume production of silicone parts.
Applications
The parts 3D printed with Formlabs Silicone 40A material are used in various industries such as consumer goods, automotive, robotics, manufacturing, and healthcare.
Wearables, handles, and grippers for consumer products
Seals, gaskets, grommets, connectors, and dampeners for automotive, robotics, and manufacturing
Customized prosthetics, orthotics, audiology models, and medical devices
Flexible fixtures, masking tools, and soft molds for casting urethane or resin

*The measured properties have been determined through internal testing and will be updated with results from an external lab. Material properties may vary based on part geometry, print orientation, print settings, temperature, and disinfection or sterilization methods used. Data for post-cured samples were measured on Type C tensile bars printed on a Form 3 printer with 100 µm Silicone 40A Resin settings, washed in a Form Wash for 20 minutes in 80% Isopropyl Alcohol / 20% Butyl Acetate, and post-cured at 60 °C for 30 minutes submerged in water in a Form Cure.
