Fuse Blast Polishing System Add-on Kit

How does it work?

Standard glass-blasting results in a rough, matte surface. However, the Polishing System can clean and smooth parts in a single step through impact polishing. The Polishing Module releases a small amount of Polishing Agent solution into the blast stream to condition the Polishing Media. This media then compacts the part surface, achieving a smooth, semi-gloss finish without removing material, similar to shot peening.

Formlabs recommends using a minimum blasting pressure of 60 PSI to achieve optimal results. Fuse Blast’s Adaptive Airflow feature allows even lower-capacity compressors to manage the increased airflow requirement by pausing the cycle while the compressor recharges. This ensures a seamless, hands-free experience for cleaning and polishing your consumer-ready SLS parts.
