General Purpose Resins V.4 | Black, Clear, Grey, White

Engineered for fine detail and functional prototyping

Formlabs® General Purpose Resins (Black, Clear, Grey and White) are polymers for Stereolithography 3D printing. They're engineered for fine detail and functional prototyping. Their mechanical properties resemble to that of ABS plastic when post cured.

Iterate High-Resolution Prototypes and Models

With a matte surface finish, opaque appearance, and precise details, you can 3D print strong, precise concept models and prototypes. The prints’ neutral undertone makes a great base for your parts that will eventually be painted or undergo other finishing processes for end-use.

High Part Quality

If you use Formlabs 3D printing general-purpose polymers, you can create elegant, enticing parts without sanding, polishing, or priming (although these steps are still necessary if you plan to paint the parts). You’ll notice less visible layer lines when 3D printing with a GP resin, even on 100-micron prints, and thinner features won’t print transparent.

Neutral Undertone

You can paint or use other finishing processes after the 3D printing to elevate your model or prototype. Formlabs materials engineers formulated this resin to ensure the value of aesthetically pleasing material, a given for artistic fields like modelmaking.

NOTES

  1. Material properties can vary with part geometry, print orientation, print settings, and temperature.
  2. Data was obtained from green parts, printed using Form 2, 100 μm, Clear settings, without additional treatments
  3. Data was obtained from parts printed using Form 2, 100 μm, Clear settings and post-cured with 1.25 mW/cm² of 405 nm LED light for 60 minutes at 60 °C.
