3D printing, or additive manufacturing, technology can be used in the production of end-of-arm tooling and end effectors. 3D printing can offer significant time and cost savings, as well as the ability to produce lightweight internal sturctures that can greatly reduce the weight of an end effector ultimately reducing the strength requirements of the robot.
