3D-Bioplotter® for Bioprinting
A sophisticated extrusion-based bio-printer for medical researchers and manufacturers
Desktop Health® 3D Bioplotter is a powerful tool that combines precision engineering, biomaterials, and living cells to create functional and biocompatible 3D tissue structures. It is an innovative system for advancing tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and pharmaceutical research. 3D-Bioplotter is a highly sophisticated extrusion-based printer that processes liquids, melts, pastes, gels, or other materials, including cells, through a needle tip on a Swissmade, 3-axis gantry system. Objects can be fabricated on the sturdy, vibration-free platform – more than 90 kg or about 200 lbs –with high precision and repeatability.
Models for all levels of functionality are available: Manufacturer, Developer and Starter Series.
Bioprinting Technology is Enabling Personalized Patient Care.
Desktop Health’s 3D-Bioplotter is a leader in the medical sector for the bio-fabrication of tissue and bone structures. It is a cutting-edge bioprinting system used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The bioplotter allows researchers to create tissue models resembling specific organs or disease conditions.

Ready-to-Print Research & Medical-Grade Materials
The 3D-Bioplotter is an open-materials bioprinting system that enables easy printing of many materials in one build. You can use commercial, technical, research, or medical-grade materials, including those laden with cells. Users can choose Desktop Health materials – listed below -, and materials from preferred vendors or develop their mixture compositions, concentrations, and additives.
Manufacturer Series
The 3D-Bioplotter Manufacturer Series was designed as a tool for advanced tissue engineering and also for use in a production environment. It is the most versatile and advanced of the 3D-Bioplotter options and can utilize up to 5 materials in a build.
It has UV curing capabilities and both heated and cooled platform options.
Developer Series
The 3D-Bioplotter® Developer Series is designed for research groups new to the field of tissue engineering and for specialized use, where limited capability may still meet requirements. It has the same basic hardware and software as the Manufacturer Series but reduced park position functionality. It can still use multiple modular head types and an optional heated platform.
Starter Series
The 3D-Bioplotter Starter Series is designed for research groups new to the field of tissue engineering with few requirements in parallel material processing and automation. It has the same basic hardware and software as the other two 3D-Bioplotter models but lacks modular capability and platform temperature control. It comes with two fixed high-temperature heads.
