Proto3000 awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for Advanced 3D Digital Manufacturing Solutions and Design

Vaughan, ON, Canada- September 27th, 2016 – Proto3000, a leading provider of additive manufacturing and metrology solutions based in Vaughan, Ontario is pleased to announce that it has recently been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2008 certification for the scope of Advanced 3D Digital Manufacturing Solutions and Design.

Proto3000 received their ISO 9001:2008 certification in August 2016 and is one of the first companies in North America to be able to comply with strict quality management principles in their delivery of 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CAD engineering services. Manufacturers, product developers, and researchers looking to implement additive manufacturing into their current workflow can now have the confidence that it will be backed by a quality promise.

The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus on good quality management practices. It consists of standards and guidelines relating to quality management systems and related supporting standards. ISO 9001:2008 provides a tried and tested framework for taking a systematic approach to managing the organization’s processes so that they consistently turn out services that satisfies customers’ expectations. ISO 9001 is used in some 176 countries by businesses and organizations large and small, in public and private sectors, by manufacturers and service providers, in all sectors of activity.

Lori Vassos, Quality Assurance Lead at Proto3000 said, “it is my goal to ensure quality both in our customer service, and in our production. The implementation of ISO standards, though challenging, has proven to be an excellent way for us to monitor, track, and improve on the quality we provide to our end users.”

“Companies that require tooling or low-volume parts from ISO 9001:2008 suppliers, can now also benefit from the advantages of 3D printing, right here in Canada.  With the advancement of 3D printed production-grade materials, companies are able to significantly reduce costs and lead times.  Thus, allowing them to increase efficiency and better compete in the global market,” stated Eyal Geiger, Director of Engineering & Sales.

Proto3000 stressed its commitment to, “do the absolute best to produce the best quality parts and services possible and that we have guidelines and rules that we follow to ensure that the quality is never sacrificed.”

This milestone for Proto3000 is in addition to moving to their new state-of-the-art 3D printing facility and head office this year. It also marks a big step for the advanced manufacturing industry in its ability to offer the same quality standards seen in traditional manufacturing.
